The University of Ljubljana, in which the offices of the Slovenian University Sports Association are located, officially opened the academic year 2008/2009 at the Kongresni trg in Ljubljana on October 1, 2008.
The freshmen were especially welcomed by the Rector of the University of Ljubljana, prof. dr. Andreja Kocijančič. In the Zvezda park, all faculties of the ULJ presented themselves, and at the platform in front of the University headquarters, sport activities were taking place.
At the event, SUSA was also involved, presenting its regular activities, as well as the 26th Winter Universiade Maribor 2103 and the 4th European Universities Handball Championship Ljubljana 2009.
After the official ceremonies, a big concert was held by Vlado Kreslin with Mali bogovi and Trkaj with Rapostoli.
