Slovenian athletes participating at World and European University Championships have been promoting Slovenian bid for organising the 25th Winter Universiade 2011 in Maribor. So far, the promotion has taken place at the following championships:
World University Championships in Orienteering, Futsal, Golf, and Wild Water Canue;
European University Champiosnhips in Tennis, Volleyball, Badminton, and Futsal.
